Jamie moved to Bend from San Francisco with his partner in 2016. Jamie has a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology and works as a senior patent agent in the biotechnology industry. Jamie has been involved with various advocacy groups supporting HIV-related services and education. Jamie has been a consultant for Gilead Sciences on HIV patient perspectives, served on the Community Advisory Group of the HIV Research Section within the San Francisco Department of Public Health, has participated in 8 AIDS/Lifecycle rides (7-days cycling from SF to LA to raise money and awareness of HIV services). Jamie currently serves as a Board of Trustee member on a nation AIDS Foundation based in Washington, DC, which provides strategic grant making, capacity building, and policy/advocacy to end the HIV epidemic.
