Megamo Nesbit was raised in Canada, though likely did more growing up in 23 years of living in San Francisco. Seeking a different pace of life in a smaller town with an abundance of outdoor opportunities, Megamo and their wife moved to Central Oregon in 2021. As a new queer resident in Central Oregon, Megamo is passionate about supporting OUT Central Oregon’s mission of promoting inclusivity, visibility, and advocacy for the queer community.
Professionally, Megamo brings OUT Central Oregon over 20 years of experience building innovative social impact programs across a variety of industries. After studying International Development and Economics at the University of New Brunswick, Megamo’s early career started in the nonprofit sector focusing on economic development efforts. In the early 2000s, as web-based technologies became more available, Megamo saw the potential for the tech sector to accelerate how technology could be used to advance social and environmental goals. A pioneer in the nonprofit programs for Salesforce, Change.org, and Twilio, Megamo has created successful new models for how businesses can be a force for good through strategic go-to-market programs that drive business growth while delivering durable, positive social change. Today Megamo is the CEO of Megamo Consulting, helping businesses and nonprofits create lasting social impact programs.
