Justin Bubenik
Term: March 2025 - March 2027
Board Member
Justin Bubenik (he/him) is a Bend-area attorney and committed advocate for inclusive community spaces, outdoor access, and thoughtful nonprofit leadership. An attorney by training, Justin brings experience in governance, compliance, and strategic decision‑making, with a professional background that spans private practice, public service, and in‑house counsel roles.
Justin is an avid fly angler and upland bird hunter who strongly believes that access to the outdoors—and to community—should be welcoming, affirming, and grounded in shared stewardship of place. To that end, Justin founded FlyCurious Fishing, a local nonprofit dedicated to creating inclusive, curiosity‑driven entry points into fly fishing and conservation. Through FlyCurious, he focuses on lowering barriers to participation and building community around outdoor experiences that are accessible.
On the board of OUT Central Oregon, Justin supports organizational governance, long‑term strategy, and partnerships that strengthen the organization’s mission while expanding its reach and impact. He is particularly passionate about initiatives that increase local LGBTQ+ visibility and position Central Oregon as a place where LGBTQ+ individuals and families can feel safe, seen, and at home—whether they live here or are visiting for the first time.
